Bring along a covered dish of your favorite dish and join your neighbors and friends in a fine memorable treat. Stories - As our plays are about the history of Walton County, it people, situations, incidents, some tall tales, and who told them ...they are important to be passed along through generations and perhaps by our performances. Please bring to mind those major and minor things that really make us ...US...Those dialogs that are often discussed with groups of friends swapping stories and tales...these are the things that are woven into the fabric of our community. Cookbook - We would love to see your's or your families names in the book above the recipe and/or cooking tips/techniques, and perhaps an interesting story about how you came upon it....this is another way great to pass along our heritage, and an opportunity to recognize the individual's talents in satisfying one of our most important basic needs. This Year's Production: Cafe Tales and Tattlers
Each season Grit & Grace creates a totally new show with new stories, song and music, and this year will celebrate its eighth year's performance. The first show took place in October 2000. Jeremiah Campbell is once again hired to write and direct the production. Assisting will be Jim Garrett who will also take on the responsibility of Music director. Jeremiah wrote and directed last year's play titled "Songs of the Home Grown Legends" in which Jim Garrett stared as one of the main characters, famous song writer and band leader Pappy McCormick. Jeremiah has been in a number of Grit & Grace productions in the past as a performer. We envision the story line to emerge from the stories shared by local people gathered in small cafes in and around Walton County. It is their shared history being passed along in small gatherings around breakfast or lunch or just a cup of coffee. Those provocative incidence that are called to mind and discussed with humor, reverence, and some sadness, but all with grit and grace building the community heritage. The show will certainly include its own music, drama, dance, singing as those stories are depicted on stage in live performance. Grit & Grace productions are proudly included as a member of the South Walton Tourist Development Autumn Tide Program and have been since its inception.Grit and Grace needs your stories!Go to our Share a Story page to learn about how you can help Grit and Grace with your stories from the past. |
